A chateau guest house with three luxurious family suites. It has been named one of the best child/family friendly hotels in France by the Daily Telegraph. Each family suite consists of two interconnecting rooms and the idea is that we offer luxury for the parents and fun for the kids.
One of our most popular features is offering children's meals around 5pm to 6pm followed by adult only dinners or suppers later. You can easily hear children in our rooms with or without a baby monitor. During 2011 we will be offering an all-inclusive package that includes accommodation, food, all drinks (including wine and beers) plus child minding for a couple of hours a day.
Our suites:
The Roi suite - Our most elegant suite consists of the Marie Antonette room and the Louis room on the first floor. The Marie Antoinette has a beautifully draped bed, sofa plus a bathroom. The Louis room has twin beds plus a small sofa that can be turned into a bed. There is an ensuite shower room. Between the two rooms is a lounge area.
The Dauphin suite - this takes up all of the second floor and includes the Dauphin room and the Joan of Arc room. The Dauphin room has a king sized draped bed plus a clawfoot bath set in a window overlooking the parkland and ensuite. The Joan of Arc room has three single beds plus a sofa that can be turned into a fourth bed. There is a large ensuite shower room. The Emperor's suite - this consists of the Napoleon and Josephine rooms on the first floor. It will not be available until Spring 2011, when it will include a double room and a twin room plus a large shower room.
Le Castel is a classic Napoleon III chateau with twin turrets. It is set in four acres of parkland with a swimming pool, woodland den area and a huge Camelot style tent filled with toys. Le Castel is near the beautiful cathedral city Coutances. It is well placed to see all of Normandy's top tourist sites, including Mont St Michel, the Bayeux Tapestry and the D-Day beaches, which are all 45 to 85 minutes away. Beautiful deserted beaches are 15 minutes away. There are also great zoos, kiddie theme parks, ruined castles, beautiful chateaux and forests. The ferry ports at Cherbourg and Caen are an hour away.
We have an array of baby equipment available, including cots, high chairs, potty, bed guard, baby monitor etc.
Rooms in the chateau are from 120 to 155 euro a night for B&B for a couple. Family suites from 210 to 240 euro a night for B&B for a family of 4. Additional child bed plus breakfast is 15 euro a night.
