Poppyland Holiday Cottages offer seven individual properties in unspoilt rural North Norfolk where you can relax and enjoy the slower pace of life that is still a feature of this part of the world. Offering both coastal and countryside locations, our properties are completely different in style with all of their character retained. You will always find the property of your choice comfortable, clean, warm and very well equipped so that you can enjoy your holiday.
Wickmere is a quiet hamlet made up of a few cottages built to provide accommodation for the workers on the Wolterton Estate, the family seat of the younger brother of the then Prime Minister, Robert Walpole. Using Swallow Cottages as a base, it is possible to walk or cycle safely along quiet lanes, reach all of the North Norfolk coast and the local market towns. Wickmere is close to Felbrigg Hall and within walking distance of Blickling Hall, two National Trust properties which are well worth a visit, both offering extensive woodland and lakeside walks as well as the houses themselves. Other local attractions include the North Norfolk Steam Railway, The Shire Horse Centre, Seal Trips from Morston and the Norfolk Broads.
Swallow Cottage No.1, Wickmere, Norfolk - Sleeps 4 + cot in two bedrooms. This charming cottage is one of a pair of traditional cottages nestled together overlooking mature gardens and meadowland in the rural village of Wickmere. With cosy rooms, exposed beams, inglenook fireplace and traditionally decorated they make lovely countryside retreats. Outside there is a cottage garden with BBQ and garden furniture. Facilities include TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washer/dryer.
Swallow Cottage No.2, Wickmere, Norfolk - Sleeps 4 + cot in two bedrooms. These charming cottages provide ideal accommodation for larger parties who wish to holiday together. Both cottages have their own garden but a communal garden is also provided. Overlooking the meadows and with acres of national trust lands at hand, it's a haven for bird watchers and walkers. Facilities include TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washer/dryer.
