It is a larger stunning stone holiday cottage with 3 double bedrooms and has been completely newly refurbished to an exacting interior standard to cater for luxurious breaks for 2-6 people. It is located just 15-20 minutes walk from Alnmouth Village and its stunning beach and estuary. Quiet and peaceful, you are staying on an old farm surrounded by private gardens and off street gated parking. Beautiful views to Alnmouth Estuary and a gorgeous luxurious cottage. Only five minutes drive to the gorgeous market town of Alnwick and the fabulous castle and gardens. Locally you are within easy reach of unspoiled walks, lots of history and the most castles in any county! With plenty of fantastic eateries in and around Alnmouth and Alnwick, you are spoiled for choice. The Old Forge has a stunning interior design, with all required mod cons. The sitting room has a wall mounted flat screen TV/DVD and double sided real log fire for cosy moments. With a leather and fabric sofa and gorgeous armchair, you can curl up and relax.
Living Room - Long deep seated leather/fabric sofa with coffee table, flat screen wall mounted TV /DVD with Freeview. Gorgeous double sided log fire within the central featured floor to ceiling fireplace. High ceilings with exposed original beams over 150 years old.
Kitchen/Dining area - Perfect kitchen with Franke one and a half sink, granite worktops, large Falcon range cooker with 2 ovens and 5 burner gas hob. Wine fridge, integrated dishwasher, large 3/4 fridge with separate freezer, microwave, plenty of cupboard space and all utensils and cookware you could need! Oak topped breakfast island and stools.
Glass dining table with 6 cream leather roll top chairs. Oak flooring throughout with underfloor heating. Stone tiled floor in the kitchen area.
Double doors leading out to the patio and BBQ/garden area with views to the Alnmouth Estuary. Two large coach style windows to the front of the property.
Utility cupboard - Brand new washer and dryer, hoover, mop, ironing board and iron, clothes airer.
Bedroom 1 - A fabulous master bedroom, with a king bed, The Old Forge offers luxurious sleeping arrangements too! Beautiful Egyptian cotton duvet covers for you to melt into after a day's sightseeing. Built in wardrobe area with hanging space, and plenty of drawers. Dressing table and mirror with cream armchair, TV and bedside tables. Ensuite shower room. Limestone tiled bathroom with floating WC, surface mounted bowl sink and fantastic drench shower with handheld shower on riser bar as well. Glass screen and full height mirror. Shaving point access and wall mounted towel rail.
Bedroom 2 - A double bedroom with double bed, bedside tables, dressing table and fabulous armchair. Chest of drawers and wardrobe hanging space. Window views out to the garden and fields.
Family bathroom - An ideal bathroom for families with a drench shower over the bath, plus a shower head in the side of the bath for hairwashing! Oblong ceramic sink set on oak worktop. Floating WC with shelving above and mirrored. Wall mounted towel rail.
Bedroom 3 - A superb room with flexibility to be a twin or a double room. Bedside tables, dressing table and stool. Built in wardrobe with hanging space. Chest of drawers.
Outside - The Old Forge has a patio area to the rear of the property that enjoys south westerly sun during the day. It has a BBQ and chairs and table for al fresco eating. Views to Alnmouth Estuary. There is a garden either side of the patio with railway sleepers separating grass and patio. 3 large trees that offer lovely shade in summer and a play area for children. In front of the patio is a field frequented by cows at times during the year! The parking is to the front of the property where there is space for 3 cars on the gated gravel driveway.
There is some superb local fayre at the local eateries which are all child friendly. During the summer enjoy the famous Alnmouth Raft Race in August - a must to see! If you fancy a day out, 5 minutes in the car and you reach the Market Town of Alnwick where Harry Potter scenes were filmed at the Alnwick Castle. Alongside it, there are the famous Alnwick Gardens to explore and maybe even take afternoon tea at the Treehouse! With plenty of shops and restaurants as well as a thriving local Farmers Market, you are spoiled for choice. There is also an indoor soft play centre, The Lions Den for wet days, and another close by in Amble – Castle Mania. Further afield you can visit places such as Bamburgh for a wonderful walk and feast on local kippers and salmon in Craster.
