John and Wendy have been welcoming guests to Bainvalley Cottages in Hemingby near Horncastle for five years and are delighted to invite you to discover it for yourself and have a 'get away from it all' experience.
The quiet location, in little known Lincolnshire, is perfect for those just wanting to relax and recharge batteries, in one of the two pet friendly cottages. The cottages are available for a couple, or a family with flexible booking available at all times throughout the year from one night to one month and each cottage can accommodate 4/6 people in 2 bedrooms.
There is free Wi Fi broadband for your own use and all bedding and towels are included in the rent. The owners tennis court is available for visitors use 75m from the cottages with a pub and an excellent play area both within easy walking distance. We welcome children and well behaved pets. Guests can choose either a self catering holiday or Bed and Breakfast.
The holiday cottages are comfortable, well furnished and equipped with broadband as well as having underfloor heating and woodburning stoves making them cosy for any season. Preparing meals is no chore in the well-equipped, practical, labour saving kitchen which has a hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer.
A beamed ceiling separates the dining area from the living area and helps create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Garden Room ensures a relaxed place to return to after visiting resorts for peace and tranquility. The two bedrooms (a king size and a zip and lock twin which could make a king size) have views across the surrounding countryside and are individually decorated. The stylish bathroom has a deep stand alone bath, perfect for a relaxing soak and a large walk-in shower for those finding a bath difficult.
There is a double sofa / settee in the living area, which allows each cottage to comfortably sleep 4 people upstairs, plus 2 on the sofa/settee downstairs or 8/12 when both cottages are taken.

Motor Sport: As the most exciting motorcycle racing circuit in the country the narrow, twisting, hilly track of Cadwell Park presents a unique challenge for the Two-Wheelers- Anything but a quiet ride through the country! Watch British Superbike Championships Club Racing, both bikes and cars - or experience it yourself with our Yamaha Track and Race Bike School. Bring your own bike or borrow one of the RG's to take to the limit. The venue just 5 miles from Bainvalley Cottages. Manby Motorplex offers driving experiences only 15 miles from the cottages.
Walking: Throughout the county there are over 100 walks to enjoy - plenty to keep you and your dog occupied during your visit! Check out our Walking Discovery Packs covering the length and breadth of the county. With an average of 6 to 8 walks per pack they are a fantastic introduction to the varied and unique landscapes the county has to offer. They aim to make planning a walking break easy with the 15 packs covering all the county's different walking zones – the Wolds, the Heart of Lincolnshire, the City, the Vales, the Fens, the Coast and the Ancholme Valley.
The Lincolnshire Coast: We have some wonderful beaches - from the quiet sandy expanses to the more traditional donkey-rides and sandcastle building. At Donna Nook it is possible to see the Grey Seal's pupping from October to January each year.
Cycling: There are many cycle routes that take you along pleasant, tranquil, un-spoilt country lanes. The Water Rail Way has officially been opened from Lincoln to Boston the route embraces a variety of scenery, from the City, to rolling farmland and ancient woodlands, to the wild beauty of the fens back to a City.
Fishing: Major rivers in the county include the Witham, which flows in its entirety through Lincolnshire, the Welland in the south and the Ancholme in the north; the Fossdyke canal runs into Lincoln and there are a variety of drains around Boston and the Fens. They all represent excellent coarse fishing. The upper Witham, Great & Long Eau, Bain and upper Welland all offer interesting angling opportunities for the trout and game angler. |
