Our 2 week stay in this lovely gite was just perfect & for the first time away on holiday I didn't want to go home! Stephen & Sandra made our stay even more enjoyable by their humour & friendship. Thank you & we would love to return
Charming hosts who were very welcoming. Wonderful garden and pool area. Great location for exploring the region. Would certainly visit again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at La Vielle Maison. The location is quiet and relaxing and is near enough to the village of Saint Genies to feel that you are part of the neighbourhood. We can recommend the Sunday market there! Hosts Stephen and Sandra were friendly and helpful, and were happy to accommodate us in an adjoining cottage for a few days longer when we said we didn't want to go home. The actual location of the cottage is in La Doinie, a small hamlet of a few houses with a sleepy feel about it. The gardens are well kept with a variety of plants and trees. The only sound from our bedroom in the morning was of bird-song, and the cooling trickle of water from the nearby pool. Montignac is nearby, and in the other direction, Sarlat, both interesing and charming towns. You will be visited by the chickens from time to time, as they check you out. It was always good to see Stephen, as he went about his work, sometimes mowing the grass or tending to the landscaped areas. He was great fun and we took advantage of his extensive local knowledge.....we also enjoyed the daily banter.
A very comfortable gite, which was well appointed. The english owners were very welcoming and provided some fresh eggs from their chickens. The location is ideal, as it's proximity to the main road from Montignac to Sarlat is very close so you can get about easily and yet it is very quiet and peaceful. We had a very relaxing holiday.
Fantastic location, friendly hosts, great hospitality. There is lots to do in the area. Great for a family holiday. Highly recommended.
Comfortable, very well equipped, beautiful views, lovely garden and swimming pool. Very central for sight-seeing. So many lovely interesting places to visit. A week was not long enough. Nearby St Genies is very attractive with market on Sunday and a super chateau restaurant. Would certainly stay here again.
We have stayed in a many gites and the owners here have put so much care into providing a relaxing experience that they are definitely head and shoulders over anywhere else we have stayed. Top quality venue, excellent hosts and remarkable location with excellent views.
We had a delightful week, the weather was great, the property was excellent for our needs and the children loved the pool, well we all did! The area is gorgeous with so much to do but we all enjoyed kayaking on the Dordogne. What made the holiday even better was the friendliness of our hosts, they made us feel so welcome. We'd all recommend it!
