Owl Barn: When I booked online I was looking for something simple that a family of 6 could fit into that felt French! I'm married with 4 children ages 6 & 15. Booking couldn't have gone smoother with clear instruction and receipt of payment. Trusted. The Gite exceeded all my expectations and the website does not do this site justice-it is bigger and better than it looks. On arriving we received a simple yet warm welcome from Sue who was genuinely pleased to see us. There are no "airs or graces just real people. I'm used to being a bit guarded about hidden extras when going on holiday and was again surprised to find a bottle of very good red wine, bread, butter and tea sugar laid out to welcome us. Everything was clearly explained and extra costs were not hidden (there weren't any!). Sue and Dai work on trust and from the little shop, Chez Sue is rarely found these days, you take what you need and sign for it then settle on departure WOW!! All the necessities are there. The real moment of truth was when my little boy developed a rash due to an allergic reaction. You don't want this on holiday but when it happened Dai travelled with me through the night to two different hospitals and made sure I wasn't alone to deal with it. For this I cannot thank him and Sue enough. The site is well placed for the beautiful Normandy beaches and we had the best time. The Gite is spacious and very cosy. With everything you need to cook for a family of six. Very clean and comfortable. Sue and Dai are the best of both worlds " Not intrusive yet there when you need them¡Nothing is too much trouble". My only regret is we missed "Dai's Beef Bourguignon/Coq au vin. Two families were resident opposite and both raved!! On this point you are not on top of each other on this site. Cherry Tree: We as a large party, mostly retired, pensioners, hired all three cottages for a week. We found them excellent. Particularly many enjoyed relaxing in the pool. We are not a family with children but feel these would suit everyone. Rating 5 out of 5, Gordon, Aug 2010.

Owl Barn: Very peaceful location, but with lots of history and places to visit just on your doorstep. Beautifully presented Gites, we have now stayed in two of them and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone. The extra touches of having a small shop on site is very useful and a pool in the summer is great, not to mention the option of having meals prepared for you by the owners 3 nights a week is brilliant and really does make for a relaxing stay. Cherry Tree: The accommodation was first class with every piece of equipment one could want. The location was perfect in terms of things to see and do. The layout and amenities eg, swimming pool and evening meals were first class. Dai and Sue were very welcoming and went out of their way to be of help. For example my son was travelling independently and Sue 'phoned us to tell us when he arrived as she knew I was worried about him. There was a shop which was open 24 hours and things bought on trust simply by writing on the list and settling up at the end of the holiday. Our holiday was first class and we would recommend it to anyone. In terms of classification rating of 5 being the best we would unhesitatingly award this 5. Carolyn, July 2010.

Owl Barn: The cottage is perfect for young children-no concerns with stairs, and with the garden being enclosed, they can venture outside safely. The small shop which the owner keeps stocked with essentials is very handy, and with no real profit being made as far as I can see-mostly for guests benefit. Local beaches beautiful. Chestnut Cottage: Home from home, everything you could possibly need for a family holiday! Friendly owners, space for kids to play outside, lovely peaceful rural location but only few mins to neighbouring town for shops. Don't miss the local market days for fabulous fresh French produce. Cherry Tree: Very spacious for a large family and very well equipped. Owners on site proved to be extremely helpful and pleasant without being a nuisance. The whole set-up made for an extremely enjoyable holiday with all that we could have wanted and more. Owl Barn: Nice wide doors and plenty of space inside so that you don't keep hitting furniture with the wheelchair! Nice spacious shower room too and level opening french doors from the main bedroom. Some minor problems with the taps which were being dealt with at the end of the season, hence 4.5. A very welcoming couple of owners who really put themselves out to make the stay great! Owl Barn: My wife and I stayed here for the last two weeks in September 2009 with our elderly Labrador. The barn is converted into a 2 bed cottage all on one level, it is in superb condition and all the amenities that we required are included for a very comfortable holiday. Sue and Dai make sure you have all that you need and nothing is too much trouble for them,they are top class hosts. This is definitely a 5 star rating and we go to France twice a year and have done so for the past 4 years. The direct route from Calais is 290 miles. Leonard, Oct 2009.
Owl Barn: We have had the pleasure of staying in all three of the owners holiday cottages and they are fabulous! Set in a very quiet hamlet away from roads yet only a 5min drive to large supermarket & to local town. Fantastic local market days for fresh french produce. Very well equipped for families of all ages. There is a pool, swing set & safe courtyard area. Inside the Cherrytree & Chestnut cottages there are stair gates that give you peace of mind for those with toddlers. All those little things when you travel with little ones like highchairs & cots to baby baths can be provided so really is like home! Very friendly owners & I recommend their home cooked meals to your gite as they are lovely! Our favourite place in France & we have been six times!! I give it 5 out of 5. Heather, Sept 2009
