Property Summary (FR070)
A 3 bedroom village house that sleeps 4-6 situated in the centre of a small friendly village surrounded by sunflower fields and vineyards, yet close to sandy beaches and other attractions - not far from Saintes. The house has a small, enclosed garden with a shady pergola and a much larger adjoining "secret garden" which is good for games or relaxing. Across the square from the house is a useful shop/bar, which sells a wide variety of basics including fresh bread and croissants daily. The village is set in beautiful countryside amongst vineyards and sunflower fields, but only about 16 miles from the coast and its lovely beaches. There is a zoo, a tree-adventure park, an indoor swimming complex with slides and waves, and a chateau with a children’s adventure puzzle all nearby. For smaller children there is a highchair and a cot as well as story CDs and tapes. There are books for all ages and broadband internet access is now available.
On the ground floor there is a large kitchen / dining room with double doors from the garden with beamed ceiling and features a beautiful tiled, wood-burning stove for cooler nights or off-season visits. A second sitting room/bedroom 4 is on the West side of the house and benefits from the afternoon and evening sunshine. There is optional sleeping accommodation on a daybed and on a sofa bed which converts to a double bed.
Stairs lead from the kitchen to the 1st floor, which has a large double bedroom with two long windows facing West and overlooking the square. There are also two small single bedrooms which are South facing and overlook the garden. Outside there is a small, but completely enclosed garden with a grassed area and a covered pergola to provide shade on sunny days, and there is a range of furniture for sunbathing and alfresco dining. There is also a garage with a supply of wood for off-season visits and 2 bicycles which guests are welcome to use.
