This holiday accommodation offers three Self-Catering cottages, 3 Star French Tourist Board Approved and luxury Bed and Breakfast. We also offer mid-week and weekend short breaks out of high season, including Christmas and New Year. Relax in tranquil surroundings, with heated swimming pool (April to October), Jacuzzi hot tub, bicycles and bar area. Dinner is available (by reservation) to all guests, using fruit and vegetables from the garden and local produce. We are within easy reach of Cognac (20 mins), Saintes (35 mins), Angouleme (35 mins), Royan (50 mins), La Rochelle (70 mins), Poitiers (70 mins), Bordeaux (95 mins) where you can find beaches, golf, fishing, seafood, cognac, wine, pineau the local speciality and much more.

Each cottage has been recently renovated to a high standard to provide extremely comfortable and well-appointed accommodation with electric central heating. They comprise of two large en-suite bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) with Italian bathrooms, excellent mattresses, bedside lamps, clock radio and hair dryer.

All self catering holiday cottage accommodation has a spacious open-plan living room which is furnished to a superior standard, consisting of sofas, chairs, dining area and fully equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and washing machine. Each cottage has its own private terrace, garden with garden furniture, barbecue facilities and private parking. We have tried to think of everything to make your stay special. To save on luggage space, we provide a luxury welcome pack and all cleaning materials. All linen, towels and central heating are provided within the prices. Travel cots with proper mattresses, high chairs and baby bath are also provided. Wireless internet access is available.

Oleander Cottage: provides accommodation for either two or four people and adjoins the main house. This cottage is located on three levels. The twin bedded room has its own separate entrance and is linked to the open plan living room up a few steps. The double bedroom is up a few steps from the living area. The entrance to the living room is situated at the front of the main house with its own terrace, garden with garden furniture, barbecue and private parking.

Bamboo Garden: provides accommodation for four people and is set in the grounds of the main house overlooking a small courtyard and pool area. The en-suite bedrooms, one double and one twin are both on the first floor. The furniture and fittings are identical in both Bamboo Grove and Bamboo Garden. The entrance is located in a small courtyard in the grounds behind the main house with its own terrace, garden with garden furniture, barbecue area and private parking. Bamboo Garden can be linked on the ground floor to Bamboo Grove, should two groups wish to holiday together.

The en-suite bedrooms, one double and one twin are located on the first floor. Just back from an amazing 2 weeks at these magnificent holiday cottages. Fabulous, well equipped gite, great pool, amazing BBQs, great and knowledgable hosts, made to feel very welcome. Recommend visiting Angouleme, Cognac and Le Chateau de la Roche Courbon. Highly recommend this place for a great, relaxing and welcoming family holiday!!

Arriving at these holiday cottages at Louzignac in the Charente Maritime area of South West France was like stepping into heaven, especially as we had been bitterly disappointed with our previous Gite in the area. That's why these personal reviews are so important. Sally and Peter make sure your stay at their small Gite complex is a joy from beginning to end. Entering the grounds, the first thing you notice is the beautiful well cared for garden with brightly coloured plants everywhere. This leads on to the main house and first Gite. The lovely exteriors of the Gites have been painted in the traditional Charente manner, and you can see Sally's loving touch evident in the scrupulously clean interiors, where the traditional white walls and wooden beams have been complimented by the new (but traditional style) furniture. The bathrooms are immaculate with lovely modern showers and crisp clean ceramics. The kitchens are fully fitted out with everything you could possibly need (they now even have my oyster knife!). The heated pool, with plenty of sun loungers, is a joy to use, and is especially suited to children. In fact my son took his first unaided strokes there. Near the pool is the barbecue area where Peter weaves his magic, but is available for all to use. The Gite we stayed in is one of two that look over the giant Bamboo grove. There is a lovely patio area and lawn outside where one can have breakfast and an evening meal while looking at the magical Bamboos. Sally is always available without being obtrusive, which is just the right balance one needs to relax with. My wife and children had a beautiful time there and we look forward to returning. The prices are unbelievably great value for a three star Gite. You have a great holiday there, you won't be disappointed.

We have stayed annually at this accommodation since August 2006 either in the main house or in one of the three gites. Set in a beautiful area of the country with vines wherever you turn we always look forward with anticipation to returning to La Maison. Sally and Peter's hospitality is second to none; the welcome is always warm. The gites are well equipped and if staying at the main house you are treated like an old friend. For teenagers the pool and sunbeds are invaluable. You are guaranteed an enjoyable stay at this property.

We have had the pleasure of staying with Sally and Peter on two occasions. We were a group of three families so had all three Gites to ourselves. The setting is fantastic, the houses spotless and superby equipped. The gardens and pool area are simply fantastic, plenty of room for the badminton court, cricket pitch etc etc. The pool is great made even more so as we have been blessed with great weather on both holidays. There is a nice bbq area which we made good use of and on the one day of rain we had it was straight into the hot tub... now that can't be bad. Although by night you have to travel out a little bit to as Louzignac is very quiet, within a few miles you can find a really nice Pizza Restaurant a lakeside restaurant which is in a pleasant location. We had a few lovely evenings eating out in Cognac, pavement dining great food and wine and a spot of people watching.. spot on! Sally and Peter are also fantastic people who make you feel very welcome are very helpful and available without ever being intrusive. In fact when you don't see them pottering around the gardens the kids really missed them. Daniel came home Peter's number one fan, although I bet Peter may not miss his daily interogation by our 4 year old! The only down side is the place is so perfect, it is such a wrench to actually leave and do something in the day other than enjoy it!
