Self Catering Holiday Accommodation, Cwmpalis, Carmarthenshire - Old Oak Barn offers unique self catering accommodation for 4 (Fifth little one possible) in a secluded woodland valley and is situated in West Carmarthenshire near the Pembrokeshire border only 5-10 minutes from the A40 & St Clears. It is situated on our 75 acre farm which includes 40 acres of private woods to enjoy. We are open all year round for holidays or short breaks!
The renovated two bedroom barn provides a very high standard of accommodation. The main features are a very spacious south facing stone patio adjoining the building as well as the interior with plain white walls and wooden features many of which come from trees grown in Cwmpalis Woods. Under floor heating provides an especially comfortable warmth all year round and enables the beautifully handcrafted alder floor to be seen at its very best. The kitchen is well-equipped including a dishwasher and washing machine. In the lounge there is a TV and DVD player. We offer very child friendly accommodation and for our visitors who may be allergic we have decided strictly no pets. We have installed free broadband WiFi.
The barn is very near our 40 acre wood where badgers can often be seen. Informal gardens with small swings for children plus 2 more much bigger swings in the woods are very popular.
This part of Carmarthenshire is popular for holidays in Wales and is easily accessible from the M4 being approximately 90 minutes from the Severn Bridge - on a good run! We are only a short drive from many well known and beautiful parts of West Wales which include the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and National Park. Folly Farm and Oakwood are only 30 minutes away. Tenby, Laugharne, Saundersfoot and Caldey Island also nearby. The barn is very near our 40 acre wood where badgers can often be seen. The kitchen has integrated appliances ie fridge with small freezer apartment, dish washer, washing machine, oven and ceramic hob. Storage is plentiful. Table and chairs (4) plus high chair if needed.
The sitting room has comfortable seating for 4 people, a heavy duty large bean bag for children, television with DVD. There are plenty of games, puzzles and tourist brochures. It also has a second large oak table with 5 chairs.
One bedroom has a double bed and one has twin beds – M&S Hideaway beds. Childs room has low rail and shelf and travel cot available if required – space for this in either room. |
